@lvandenassum @SersaleFederico @ochamyanmar @UNHCRAsia @ShelterCluster Each shelter hosts 8-10 families and about 13,400 people are expected to benefit. While shelter reconstruction is not a long-term solution, it is needed as an interim lifesaving measure due to the dilapidated state of existing shelters.

@lvandenassum @SersaleFederico @ochamyanmar @UNHCRAsia @ShelterCluster Hi @Ivandenassum, the shelters were built in the aftermath of 2012. UNHCR has reconstructed 30 shelters at Say Tha Mar Gyi and Ohn Taw Gyi-North camps in Sittwe since 1 July. We are scaling up efforts with the goal of 287 reconstructed shelters in the two camps by Jan 2023.
