Greece has commenced COVID 19 vaccinations of Asylum Seekers and Refugees on the islands today in Lesvos, Samos and Chios and plans to start in the mainland sites next week. This is an important step. No one is safe until everyone is safe.

2.Survivors were safely brought by @HCoastGuard to Kalamata port, where regional authorities, @kalamata_GR, @eody_gr provided immediate help and COVID-19 testing. Administrative processing is ongoing. UNHCR helped with basic relief items and stands ready to further support.

1.Τhanks to a coordinated effort by the Hellenic Coast Guards ,@HCoastGuard, 184 people were rescued and disembarked from an overcrowded vessel in distress south of Peloponnese yesterday evening. A number of unaccompanied children reported among them.
