With a group of young students of photography at a training centre in Mashhad, Iran. They are Afghan refugees. They have dreams, enthusiasm and ambitions. They made my day. (Photo @mcconnellandrew) https://t.co/TFA7JZO6Nr

Iran’s efforts to give documents to Afghans in the country are positive and must be supported. They allow better access to health and education services, and greater chances of self-reliance. https://t.co/IqCuHvUjSR

I am extremely concerned by the escalation of violence in Libya, which endangers thousands of lives. Also, unless fighting ends, we may have to suspend work for refugees and migrants stranded in Libya, and for Libyan displaced people. Months of efforts would be wasted. https://t.co/UV5s9kDwxM

Glad to be back in Iran and see more progress in refugee access to health and education. Good efforts also in ensuring that Afghans have documents. More international support needed for refugee programmes. @JZarif @HassanRouhani https://t.co/VsADOEr4fI

The conduct of war in Idlib will determine the fate of thousands of lives. It will also send signals - one way or the other - to those Syrian refugees making decisions about their future. We must ask, hope and pray that everything possible be done to spare civilians. https://t.co/4jCNPDFcPq

In today’s meetings with President Aoun @LBpresidency and PM-designate @saadhariri I discussed the situation of Syrian refugees in Lebanon; the need for stronger support by donors; and the urgency of addressing the concerns of the refugees regarding their return to Syria. https://t.co/feBi7ChdtR

In Syria, UNHCR supports local organisations providing legal aid to displaced people returning home: this helps them deal with civil documentation, property and other complicated issues. It is very important. https://t.co/npOnK0Rjaw

In Deraa, southern Syria, UNHCR and @ICRC are helping fix a bread-making factory producing tens of thousands of loaves/day. People queue for hours to buy bread. Many had left their homes but have now returned, some are still displaced from other areas. https://t.co/coxxM4GE2k
